For nearly a decade, John Ballis Jr. has been deeply involved in all facets of real estate development, leveraging his expertise to deliver innovative solutions across Texas. As a native Houstonian, John’s long-standing relationships within the industry and his ability to identify and evaluate high-value investment opportunities form the foundation of Ballis Commercial’s success.
A graduate of Louisiana State University, John studied business management with a minor in communications. As a student-athlete excelling in both football and academics, he honed a strong work ethic and developed skills in leadership and team management. After earning his degree, John obtained his real estate broker’s license, enabling him to play a hands-on role in all aspects of Ballis Commercial’s investments and services.

John Ballis Sr., based in Houston, Texas, is a seasoned veteran in real estate with decades of experience spanning the 1990s to today.
Specializing in a wide range of projects from the heart of downtown Houston to expansive tract acquisitions in East and West Houston, John has built a legacy of success in the industry. As President of Ballis Family Real Estate, John partners with retired NBA star Hakeem Olajuwon, maintaining a strong working relationship that has fueled the acquisition and management of over $100 million in real estate assets. His expertise and commitment have established Ballis Commercial as a trusted name in the Texas market.
